Shannon Ferguson
Shannon Ferguson is a printmaker and interdisciplinary artist from Fairview, Texas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Studio Art from Syracuse University in 2020, and presented her research “Art and the Sensorium” through the Renee Crown Honors Program with funding from the Syracuse Creative Works Research Grant. After graduating, she spent time as a Navasota Artist-in-Residence in Navasota, Texas. Ferguson makes work investigating the search for physical and emotional comfort as a person living with chronic pain and advocates for conversations surrounding invisible illness and accessibility. She has shown her work nationally in many juried exhibitions and presented her work at 2024’s SGCI Conference in Providence, Rhode Island and SECAC in Atlanta, Georgia. Her animated short, “The Places You Go” (2024) has been screened at Knox Film Fest, Bratislava International Film Awards, and New York Short Animation Festival. She is currently a second year MFA student in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is currently working as a letterpress technician in the UTK letterpress shop and teaches Intro to Time Based Art in the art foundations department.
